Special Finishes

We offer finishes to make your print materials unique and eye-catching!

They’re available for selected products in the following categories:

• Business cards (Rounded Corner Business Cards , Special Finish Business Cards, Matte Business Cards, Glossy Business Cards, Loyalty Cards, Appointment Cards)

• Postcards and Invitations (Foil Postcards, Standard Postcards, Foil Invitations, Rack Cards)

• Hang tags 

Depending on the product and its configuration, you can choose from a variety of finish types:

• Gold raised foil

• Silver raised foil

• Foil accent (metalic)

• Embossed gloss

• Glitter foil 

Here’s some general information to help you set up your file correctly:

• Finishes are only available on selected paper types and thicknesses. In most cases, we do not support printing with two finishes at the same time

• Finishes are applied to the front side only. To create the artwork for a finish, you’ll need to use Adobe Illustrator or another vector-based design program

• Downloading the product template and full instructions is strongly recommended

• Finishes are applied selectively and can take any shape you like. For best results, we recommend that the finish covers less than half of the overall design. The minimum font size for finished elements is 10 pt. The minimum printable line weight and the minimum spacing between finished elements is 1 pt. Please leave at least 3 mm (0.11") between the finish and any cut or fold lines to avoid cracking or peeling

We highly recommend downloading the instructions and template to create a print-ready file. However, here are a few key steps to follow:

• Use only vector graphics

• Create a new layer above your artwork and name it “Finishing”. Place all elements that require a special finish on this layer 

• Assign to these contents a spot color also named "Finishing" with 0% Cyan 50% Magenta 100% Yellow 0% Black (you'll get an orange color).”

• Make sure “Overprint Fill” is enabled for all elements in the “Finishing” layer. Keep your main design elements on a separate layer named “Artwork.”
