European and US print formats – help center

Find here a comparison between the most used print formats in Europe and the equivalent sizes in US:

A2 = 42 x 59,4 cm = 16,5" x 23,4"; A popular choice for large posters
A3 = 29,7 x 42 cm = 11,7" x 16,5" ; Great for smaller posters, menus, and presentations
A4 = 29,7 x 21 cm = 8,3" x 11,7" ;The closest European equivalent to standard US Letter size
A5 = 21 x 14,8 cm = 5,8" x 8,3"; A common size for flyers, notepads, and small booklets
A6 = 10,5 x 14,8 cm = 4,1" x 5,8" ;Perfect for postcards, small invitations, and flyers
Standard business card is 3,5" x 2"; Please note that the standard European business card is slightly different (8,5 x 5,5 cm)

A Quick Note on Paper Weight: In the US, paper is often measured by its weight in pounds (lbs) or thickness in points (pt). In Europe, the standard is grams per square meter (g/m² or GSM). They are different measurement systems, so the numbers aren't directly comparable.

Common US Paper Sizes:
- Standard letterhead (ANSI A) = 8,5" x 11" = 21,6 x 27,9 cm; The US standard for Everyday documents
- Legal sized paper = 8,5" x 14" = 21,6 x 35,6 cm
- Standard Ledger or Tabloid (ANSI B) = 11" x 17" = 27,9 x 43,2 cm
