BLEED MARGIN: Where is it located?
If you’ve downloaded our template, you’ll notice some colored lines that help you place your design correctly. The bleed is the area between the pink line (the cutting line) and the green line (the edge of the bleed). So, the green line shows where the bleed margin ends.
If you have used the Online Designer, the bleed margin is the area between the cutting line (the yellow dashed line) and the edge of the document.
BLEED MARGIN: What is it for?
During the cutting phase of the printed product, small deviations in the cutting process are common, these are called "tolerances." The bleed margin extends beyond the final cutting line of the product and helps prevent unwanted white edges around the perimeter after trimming, which would result in a less professional appearance.
Therefore, it is important to extend the background color or design of your product all the way to the bleed margin to ensure there are no white borders after cutting.

Print result with artwork extended to the bleed margin (on the left) and artwork that does not go beyond the cutting line (on the right).
The dimensions of the bleed margin vary depending on the product you have purchased. If you use our templates or the Online Designer (which allows you to create your file without the need for graphic design software), the document size and guides will already be correctly set up, making it easier to create a print-ready file.
